'Class of the Titans' to be Off-Air on Canada's Teletoon for December 2006.

According to the December 2006 schedule on the website for Canada's Teletoon, this upcoming Friday December 1, 2006 (tomorrow) will be the last day 'Class of the Titans' will be airing on Teletoon, at least for this month. The show's page on the site has not yet been updated to reflect this change, and it's not known if it will be removed altogether to reflect the new schedule.

At this point, there's no news on whether Season One re-runs will continue after the holidays are over, but please remember that Episode 1.18: Bows and Eros is still scheduled to premiere on the channel in February as a Valentine's Day special, with the air-date being set sometime in January according to the last time we checked.

Many thanks to COTT4eva at the TV.com forum for the heads-up.

Season Two and Screencap Fridays News at 'Brad's Corner'.

THIS ENTRY AND ITS RELATED LINKS ALL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPOILED, THEN PLEASE NEITHER READ ANY FURTHER NOR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

Over the week or so, director Brad Goodchild has posted some more news about Season Two and other general blog stuff at his blog. On the housekeeping side of things, there is a note about why screencaps for Episode 1.18: Bows and Eros won't be up until after the show's Canadian premiere, as well as a commentary about proper conduct when leaving comments on the blog. Another entry has a tentative schedule for when the screencap postings for the remaining episodes will be, as a number of fans have been posting requests for specific ones lately.

On the Season Two front -- first, there's some re-confirmation and clarification about the tentative premiere dates in both Canada and internationally. At present, the first episode is still slated to air in Canada in September 2007 (possibly subject to change later), while in other countries, it's entirely up to their respective distributors (ie. it is NOT decided by anyone working for Studio B Productions, such as Mr. Goodchild).

Second, there is some teaser information about another Season Two episode titled Polyphemus Returns. Polyphemus, the Cyclops Odysseus blinded in 'The Odyssey', first appeared in Season One's Episode 1.17: Eye for an Eye, will obviously return in this episode. Brontes, Steropes and Arges -- the original three Cyclopes, Cronus' brothers (half-brothers in the show), who debuted last season in Episode 1.26: Time After Time -- will also make appearances.

Third, there's some character and casting news for the Season Two episode titled Time Enough for Everything. Campe, who appeared in Episode 1.12: Prisoner Campe and Episode 1.26: Time After Time last season, will return in the episode. However, voice actor Pam Hyatt, who played both Campe and Atropos in Season One, won't be reprising her role due to scheduling issue. At present, the name of the new voice actor has not been released.

EDIT (2:51PM): We forgot to note that there's also a themed calendar available on Mr. Goodchild's blog, although you'll have to figure out which month it works for yourself.

'Make-Up Exam' Screencaps and Information on a New Season Two Episode at 'Brad's Corner'.

On a non-spoiler note, director Brad Goodchild has posted screencaps for Episode 1.14: Make-Up Exam on his blog several days early, so check it out. Remember, this is the episode that won for Best Storyboarding at the first annual Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts in October 2006.

THE REST OF THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

Mr. Goodchild has posted a lot of new information about the Season Two episode that had its voice recording done today -- this would be the forty-first episode in the series, or Episode 2.15: Recipe for Disaster, apparently formerly titled Seven Days Without Ambrosia Makes One Weak.

The plot will involve Pirithous attempting to get revenge on Hercules for leaving him in the Chair of Forgetfulness in the Underworld while rescuing Theseus after their botched mission to kidnap Persephone, whom Pirithous wanted to marry. His actions will also have an effect on the show's entire Pantheon of gods, and fans will get to see more of Olympus High School's secret wing.

Given the original title, it also seems like ambrosia -- the food of the gods, and one of the things mortals can anoint themselves with to become immortal -- may play a role as well, though that's pure speculation at this point.

On the casting side of things, it is also confirmed that voice actor Gary Chalk is reprising his role as Hercules from Season One, and newcomer (to the show) voice actor Michael Donovan will play Pirithous.

More Season Two Designs Revealed at 'Brad's Corner'.

THIS ENTRY AND ITS RELATED LINKS CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINK. THANK YOU.

Director Brad Goodchild has posted a new and unprecedented weekend surprise to his blog -- namely a few designs from the Season Two episode titled A Cold Day in Hades, which has a plot of Demeter freezing the world over when her daughter, Persephone, goes missing (again).

The first sheet is of Hades' Chair of Forgetfulness. No word yet on how the item will play into the episode, but the reference is from a more obscure myth about Persephone's other famous (almost) abduction aside from Hades', namely the incident when Theseus and his friend, Pirithous, went to the Underworld to try and kidnap Persephone to be the wife of the latter (Theseus himself had chosen and abducted a very young Helen of Sparta) -- though Hades initially welcomed them, he trapped both in such chairs. Theseus was eventually rescued by Heracles, but Pirithous was doomed to stay forever.

The second sheet is a design for Demeter -- a mother-goddess of grain and the mother of Persephone -- in both her usual goddess form and in disguise as a cow. No word yet on what the cow part has to do with the plot, but know that in Greek mythology, it is very common for gods to adopt the shapes of animals -- Demeter herself once took the form of a mare, and as for cows, Zeus abducted Europa while disguised as a bull, and in another myth, he disguised Io as a cow to hide her from Hera.

'Little Box of Horrors' Screencaps and Another Possible Season Two Episode Title at 'Brad's Corner'.

To start off spoiler-free -- director Brad Goodchild has posted screencaps for Episode 1.13: Little Box of Horrors to his blog a whole day early. Please note that the main entry with the episode's title card contains SPOILERS for Season Two of the show, so if you don't want to accidentally find-out anything about it, you may want to just look at the other relevant entries and leave comments there.

THE REST OF THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER. THANK YOU.

In addition to some general comments about how production on Season Two is coming along so far, Mr. Goodchild also revealed that one of the scripts they're currently working on is titled Cronus 2.0. He gives no hints of what the episode's plot will be, but fans are more than welcome to guess what it might be.

New Season Two Character and Lineart Revealed at 'Brad's Corner'.

THIS ENTRY AND ITS LINKS CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

As an extra surprise posting on Wednesday, director Brad Goodchild posted two new pieces of Season Two lineart to his blog, as well as revealing the title of another new episode.

All of the artwork is for the episode that will be known as Applet of Discord, and not surprisingly, Eris, the Goddess of Discord, will be a guest star. To view her the black-and-white character sheet, please click on the aforementioned link -- it seems like for the show, she has been re-imagined as a punk-style troublemaker, but please read the entry itself for more information.

If you need a bit of background on the character, know that in the story of the Trojan Saga, she was the one who threw the golden Apple of Discord -- inscribed with the words 'To the fairest' -- into the wedding of Thetis and Peleus (Achilles' parents) when she was not invited to the celebration. The goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite fought over who should have the apple, and you probably know the rest of the story as the Judgment of Paris that would lead to the mythological Trojan War.

Also of note at the entry is a second piece of graffiti artwork that's actually a somewhat modified version of the main image on this very newsblog (original image here)! According to Mr. Goodchild at the entry, the image will be used as an airbrushed bit of graffiti art done by Eris on a wall. Many thanks for what should be a fun Easter egg for online fans.

As usual, we'll try to get this information up on the Season Two news summary as soon as possible, along with the additional information about Cronus Vanquished that was posted earlier this week.

REMINDER: Please Send Questions to the Director Through the Filtering System.

Over the last month or so, many fans have been asking the same questions over and over again at director Brad Goodchild's blog -- and the answers to almost every single one of them have been posted in the past.

For the sake of not flooding Mr. Goochild with repetitive and possibly trivial questions, please do some research before posting questions and expecting an answer. Good sources to check first are the Wikipedia article, unofficial show FAQ, Season Two news summary, and any blog archives. Again, many of the questions people have been asking have already been addressed multiple times.

If you find that your question has NOT been answered, then please follow the instructions here in terms of submitting questions to Mr. Goodchild. They get filtered through the newsblog's editor first so that he can dedicate time to answering more worthwhile and substantial questions. In many cases, the editor herself will be able to answer a question and provide a link to the original source. Also, any answers get posted publicly to the newsblog, so ALL fans can read about, since most fans tend to have the same questions.

Thank you!

More Information About a Certain Season Two Episode at 'Brad's Corner'.

THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER. THANK YOU.

Earlier this week, director Brad Goodchild revealed another Season Two episode title while posting relevant background keys, briefly mentioning that the images would appear in an episode known as Cronus Vanquished. As you can probably tell from the comments to that entry, the title seems to have caused some distress among fans because it SEEMS like something that would signal the end of the series.

That said, Mr. Goodchild has just posted a follow-up announcement clarifying that the episode's title does NOT mean the series will officially end with the second season, though at the same time, whether there will be a third season or more is also NOT confirmed at this time.

The plot isn't revealed at all, for those of you who are worried about being spoiled too much, but the entry has some interesting information about when the episode was scheduled to air at first, namely that it was originally intended to be the Season Two premiere. But go and read the entry for yourself to get the director's very own words about it.

QuickTime Files Now Working on the 'Class of the Titans' Flyer!

THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

Last week, we did a detailed report on an awesome promotional flyer that Studio B Productions and Corus Entertainment had put together for the animation industry. At the same time, we'd expressed technical difficulties in accessing some of the more technological features, but now that those relevant files seem to be available, we can report on those, in addition to letting fans know that they can now access them.

Please note that you will need to have QuickTime installed on your computer in order to see the features that are described here.

First up is the animatic from Graes Anatomy, which can be accessed by clicking on the storyboard thumbnails. An animatic is basically a number of storyboards in-sequence, sort of like very rough animation, with the vocal recording by the voice actors dubbed-in. This particular clip has the heroes out on a lake searching for and finding the all-seeing eye of the Graeae, complete with taunts over Archie's fear of water and Odie using the eye to pinpoint Cronus' location.

The animatic is also the first time fans can listen to new Season Two voice actor Sarah Edmondson playing Atlanta.

The other two QuickTime files are Season One video-clips. The first clip (confusingly listed as the second) can be accessed through the Episode 1.19: Road to Hades thumbnail, and features three short excerpts -- the Hydra fight (Episode 1.21: Labour Day), the kids using the electro-magnetic paralyzing beams on Talos (Episode 1.20: Many Happy Returns), and Atlanta being chased by the Minotaur-clone (Episode 1.10: Mazed and Confused).

The second and more Neil-centric clip can be viewed by clicking on the thumbnail from Episode 1.09: Sibling Rivalry and features four clips -- Neil's photoshoot at the trainyard (Episode 1.03: Chaos 101, Part III), Neil stepping on 'something' in the subway tunnels (Episode 1.10: Mazed and Confused), Herry and Neil trash-talking during their wrestling match (Episode 1.21: Labour Day), and Neil screaming when the leaf falls on his face (Episode 1.05: The Nature of Things).

More Season Two Background Keys, Titles, and Season One DVD News at 'Brad's Corner'.

First off, and without getting into any spoilers -- director Brad Goodchild has posted another notice on his blog stating that at the present, there are NO plans for any Season One DVDs to be released. Mr. Goodchild will be the first to let fans know if DVDs do come out, so please stick with his own comments and NOT fandom rumours for information. Thank you.

THE REST OF THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

Mr. Goodchild has also posted three full-colour background keys for Jay's bedroom at the Brownstone. For fans who've been reading the director's blog for awhile now, you may recall the black-and-white lineart for the same images being posted back in late August. Have fun comparing the two stages of production.

Also of note at the entry is the announcement of another Season Two episode title -- the aforementioned background keys will be featured in Cronus Vanquished. At this point in time, we do NOT know if this will be the season finale, or if it means the second season will be the last, so please do NOT jump to any long-term conclusions from the title alone.

As usual, we will update the Season Two news summary as soon as possible with this new information. Thanks for being patient and dropping-by.

Special 'Class of the Titans' Flyer -- Includes Much Season Two News!

THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SOME MAJOR AND MINOR SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE NEITHER READ ANY FURTHER NOR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

A quick look at the newsblog's statistics last night revealed that a surprisingly high number of new hits were coming from a particular page on Studio B Productions' website -- seems like the studio, along with Corus Entertainment (official website here), has put together an amazing promotional flyer about the show for the animation industry, with a particular focus on its second season.

What so amazing about this flyer? You'll have to see for yourself, but here's a quick spoiler-heavy rundown:

  • A key phrase at the beginning is 'werewolves bay at the moon, Mother Nature drops by, and even Hell freezes over!' We know from previous comments by director Brad Goodchild that the werewolves are from Nothing to Fear But Fear Itself and the reference to Hell freezing over is from A Cold Day in Hades. However, the mention of Mother Nature seems to strongly suggest that Gaia -- the personification of the earth and the mother of Cronus, among many other offspring -- will make an appearance in Season Two.

  • Beneath the animatics thumbnails is the official studio summary for the plot of Graes Anatomy. We're not going to copy and paste it here, so please go to the link to read it. Overall, the episode seems to be focused on Odie, with the all-seeing eye shared by the three Graeae playing a key role along with fear. The summary also reveals that the episode will go with Horror, Dread, and Alarm as the individual names for each Grae.

  • There are links to the animatics for Graes Anatomy and two video clips from Season One, although at present, we can't get any of them to work. If you are tech-savvy and know what we're probably doing wrong, please drop us a line in the comments.

  • An Educational Component document (PDF) that explains how each episode in Season One can be used to teach mythology and important life lessons.

  • A Fun Facts document (PDF) with more information about the original myths used in each episode. If you're not familiar with mythology beyond how the cartoon interprets the originals, this is a must-read so you can learn more. And if you're already myth-savvy, it's great reassurance that yes, the writers do their research.

  • Links to various big websites in the fandom, most of which you're already familiar with. And yes, our little fan-run newsblog here gets a mention!

  • Five fan reviews from the summer are also published on the flyer. If you submitted one, have fun knowing that tons of people are reading your thoughts (note: one of the reviews was written by the newsblog editor -- see if you can guess which one), and if you didn't, see what your fellow fans have to say about the show!

That basically sums-up the entire flyer, but you must see it for yourself to see how great it really is.

Also, we've finally gotten around to updating the Season Two news summary with all of the recent information, including the things revealed here. It's a fairly big update, so please take a look at it.

Season Two Full-Colour Background Keys at 'Brad's Corner'.

THIS ENTRY AND ITS LINKS CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE NEITHER READ ANY FURTHER NOR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

As an extra blog special for the long weekend, director Brad Goodchild has posted four beautiful full-colour background keys from Episode 2.06: Pandemonium. All four of the images are of a rainforest setting, or Pan's new home there, thus confirming one of the new locations for Season Two.

Something Big to Happen with Theresa in the Season Two Finale?

THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE SECOND SEASON OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS', ALTHOUGH THEY ARE GENERALLY VAGUE. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO RISK BEING SPOILED EVEN JUST A BIT, THEN PLEASE DON'T READ ANY FURTHER. THANK YOU.

Director Brad Goodchild sometimes drops hints about the second season of 'Class of the Titans' at the TV.com forum, and there's one today regarding Theresa. We can't say it any better than he already did, so here are his words, quoted exactly from the original post:

In the second season you are not going to believe what we have in store for Theresa...it is going to be probably the season finale of season 2, but we haven't exactly slated it in yet. This will totally make you rethink Theresa.Enuff said.

Please be VERY careful in how you interpret what is said above -- it is NOT yet confirmed that this bit of character development will happen in the season finale for sure, and it could very well happen in another episode. Remember, Teletoon re-arranges the order of the episodes, and things can change during production.

There's also another bit of additional Season Two information in response to a fan's comments about the above Theresa moment involving a possible death -- according to Mr. Goodchild, NO characters will die in Season Two.

What makes the above news more interesting is that fact that much earlier, Mr. Goodchild mentioned that the Season Two episode titled Time Enough for Everything would include the elimination of a number of characters. In light of this recent revelation, it's probably safe to say that 'elimination' does not mean 'death' in this case, although we obviously cannot confirm that at this time.

As usual, we will eventually have this information up on the Season Two news summary, probably by the end of this week at the very latest.

Principal Cast Autographs at 'Brad's Corner'.

As an additional surprise posting for today, director Brad Goodchild has posted a scanned version of a 'Class of the Titans' stock image with the signatures of the main Season Two voice actors around the border to his blog.

Starting in the top right-hand corner and going counter-clockwise, the signatures belong to voice actors Kirby Morrow (Jay), Doron Bell Jr. (Odie), Ted Cole (Neil), Kelly Sheridan (Theresa), Ty Olsson (Herry), Sarah Edmondson (Atlanta for Season Two), Sam Vincent (Archie), and David Kaye (Cronus).

If you look closely at Neil's arms, you can see some additional writing as well.

Special Season Two Storyboards and News at 'Brad's Corner'!

THIS ENTRY AND THE LINKS HEREIN CONTAIN MANY SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

There's TONS of very awesome new material posted to director Brad Goodchild's blog today, especially for fans who've been waiting for bigger Season Two teasers.

Especially neat are five storyboards from Pandemonium, the episode Pan is supposed to return in. Please read the entry itself for a description of the scene (wherein we also discover that one of the new locations will be a rainforest), and note that the storyboards are NOT posted in order exactly -- if they don't make sense, read them in order according to the numbers in the filenames.

The same entry also contains more information and confirmation about the Season Two episode titled Breath Taking Beauty, which will feature the Theban Sphinx (of Oedipus fame) as the main guest character, as a number of fans guessed correctly. The episode had its voice recording done today as per the weekly schedule, and the main plot will apparently involve the Sphinx's return and Odie having to solve a new riddle of hers.

We haven't been able to update the Season Two news summary since late October with new information and sources yet, but we're aiming to do so with all of this new information and more by the end of the week, so please be patient.

'Prisoner Campe' Screencaps and Season Two News at 'Brad's Corner'.

THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS HEREIN. THANK YOU.

Director Brad Goodchild has actually posted the screencaps for Episode 1.12: Prisoner Campe to his blog a whole day early, so check it out. To leave comments for this set of images, please refer to the entry with the episode's title card. There's also mention of a possible surprise posting for next week.

In addition to the pictures, Mr. Goodchild has also written more about what's going on with Season Two, including revealing some tantalizing information about another episode.

Starting with an earlier entry, this past Wednesday marked another weekly recording session. As of this week, half of the twenty-six new episodes have been recorded. Also of note is the mention of more obscure characters being featured in the new season, though who exactly won't be revealed anytime soon.

Some more exciting Season Two news comes in one of today's entries. First, there are some details about the production schedule for tomorrow -- an animatic (ie. storyboard) from Nothing to Fear But Fear Itself (ie. the werewolf episode) will be cut, and Mr. Goodchild will also be checking x-sheets and storyboards for Star Quality (ie. the Orion episode) before it's shipped-out.

Most interesting of all is the teaser for another Season Two episode -- expect an Odie-centered episode titled Breath Taking Beauty. The one hint given about the plot is that it will involve solving a riddle, which I'm sure all you mythology geeks out there will probably be able to guess right away -- be sure to leave your guesses as comments to the entry.

As usual, we will try to update the Season Two news summary as soon as possible with this new information.

More New Music at the 'Class of the Titans' MySpace.

After a period of time with no new music, 'Class of the Titans' composer Michael Richard Plowman has uploaded three new themes to the show's MySpace. Check it out and listen to some great music titled 'Showdown', 'A Tense Moment', and 'Run for Your Life'.

As usual, the previous three themes have been removed for the duration.

EDIT (November 2; 11:23PM): Director Brad Goodchild has also posted a more official announcement about the new music at his blog, complete with a banner using black-and-white background lineart of Odie's computer set.
