Happy New Year and One-Year Anniversary of 'Class of the Titans'.

First off, we hope everyone reading this (or not) is having an excellent New Year's Eve so far. That said, today is also the first anniversary of the premiere of 'Class of the Titans' for the first time internationally, specifically on Canada's Teletoon back on December 31, 2005.

It's been a whole year and a lot of exciting things have happened in the fandom already -- highlights include the entire run of Season One; lots of news regarding the upcoming Season Two; the show being aired not only in Canada, but also Mexico, Australia, Singapore, France, South Africa, etc.; director Brad Goodchild running his popular blog, as well as a number of other crew members doing the same, of course; and so much more than we can't cover in a short post like this right now.

All in all -- many thanks to everyone, from those who worked on the show to the fans, for an awesome first year for 'Class of the Titans'. Here's to hoping that 2007, which also marks the premiere of Season Two in Canada, will be a good year as well. Happy New Year!

REMINDER: The 'Chaos Trilogy' to Re-Air on Teletoon Next Week.

As reported earlier, the 'Class of the Titans' December and January hiatus on Canada's Teletoon will be interrupted briefly next Thursday for the channel's CINETOON Blizzard special, which you may have recently seen an ad (featuring Theresa) for on their website.

The 'Chaos Trilogy', or Episodes 1.01-1.03: Chaos 101, will be re-airing on Teletoon as a special movie presentation next Thursday January 4, 2007 from 12:00PM to 1:30PM. This will also be the only showing of 'Class of the Titans' for January (ie. no more re-runs for the month), and the February schedule is still not yet available.

We'll post another reminder about the special re-airing next week the day before it occurs, just in case anyone forgot.

Happy Holidays -- 'Age of Silicon' Episode Annotations Preview.

Since it's the holidays, we thought we'd treat newsblog readers with a small preview from the upcoming Age of Silicon unofficial fansite for 'Class of the Titans' -- we're still working-out possible legal issues with Studio B Productions, hence why the site has not been launched yet aside from the Season Two news summary.

Before we post the link, please note that the notes are still currently at the first draft stage and are therefore a bit rough and in need of editing. Also, we ask that you do NOT, under any circumstances, take the material and post it anywhere else. It doesn't matter if you credit us or not -- we want this material to remain exclusive to the site and this preview, and please remember that a lot of work goes into researching and writing this stuff. All we want in return is a little respect.

With that out of the way -- please go here (scroll-down to the really long post) and enjoy six annotations, two for each of the three parts from Episodes 1.01-1.03: Chaos 101. Happy Holidays, everyone, and thanks for reading and visiting us this past year or so.

EDIT (1:20PM): The preview is now at the bottom of the page we linked to.

EDIT (1:53PM): As an extra holiday bonus, the Season Two news summary has finally been updated as well. Enjoy!

Fanart, 'Road to Hades' Screencaps, Season Two News, and More Holiday Fun at 'Brad's Corner'.

THIS ENTRY AND ITS LINKS CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

The last couple of days have marked the last of the 2006 updates at director Brad Goodchild's blog. Here's our summary of what the latest things to check-out are:
  • Fan Nina2006 had her 'Star Wars'/'Class of the Titans' crossover fanart featured on the blog, and if you'd like to see more of her work, she has a deviantART gallery. Congratulations! Also, if you too are interested in having your fanart possibly showcased on Mr. Goodchild's blog, then e-mail SMALL files to bradg@studiobproductions.com. Again, please keep the files small, and if you don't know how to do that, please leave a comment here and we can explain it to you.

  • Screencaps for Episode 1.19: Road to Hades have been posted much earlier than usual. As usual, if you'd like to leave a general comment about them, please do so at the entry with the episode's title card.

  • There's also another piece of special holiday artwork, celebrating not only the winter holidays, but the first anniversary of the show. If you recall, 'Class of the Titans' premiered on Canada's Teletoon on December 31, 2005, and has it ever been an interesting year.

  • Last week, fans got a small teaser about Season Two having a Christmas episode. We now know that it will be called The Game Plan and the voice recording for it will be done today. Plot-wise, we will see how Cronus likes to spend the holidays, and Amalthea will make an appearance. For those unfamiliar with the character of Amalthea, she is usually portrayed as the goat that suckled Zeus as a baby when his mother, Rhea, hid him from Cronus on the island of Crete. One of her horns became the Cornucopia (the 'horn of plenty' you're probably familiar with and associate with Thanksgiving) and her hide became Zeus and eventually Athena's aegis.

Also, there's a notice here mentioning that if you're wondering about why Teletoon isn't showing 'Class of the Titans' for the next while, please read through the newsblog for information about it rather than directing questions to the director's blog. We'll also be updating the Season Two news summary soon, but please continue bearing with us as we're still writing final examinations right now. Thank you!

REMINDER: No Private Conversations with Friends in the Comments.

As mentioned in my last entry, my inbox is starting to get clogged with people having random conversations with their friends in the newsblog's comments. While I appreciate the comments, please keep these kinds of messages to instant messaging programs such as AIM, MSN Messenger, etc. Please don't make me have to disable comments to protect my inbox.

Thank you.

'Eye for an Eye' Screencaps at 'Brad's Corner'.

In what seems to be becoming a regular trend, director Brad Goodchild has posted screencaps for Episode 1.17: Eye for an Eye a day early on his blog. Please leave general comments about them at the entry with the title card, though please note that it also contains minor spoilers for a Season Two episode.

The aforementioned entry also has some other minor news, such as that there will probably be another holiday surprise next week, and that 187 screencaps for Episode 1.18: Bows and Eros have been made and will be posted on February 22, 2007 following the episode's Canadian premiere on Teletoon.

On a newsblog housekeeping note -- while we enjoy your comments, please refrain from having private conversations with your friends, given that those messages do go to our e-mail inboxes. We recommend using instant messaging programs such as AIM, MSN Messenger, etc. instead.

A Special Christmas Card at 'Brad's Corner'.

As yet another great surprise and bonus, director Brad Goodchild has posted a special 'Class of the Titans' Christmas card to his blog, featuring Mr. Suez as Santa Claus and with Jay's Gravitational Blade making a guest appearance.

(And on an unrelated note -- this is the 200th entry at the newsblog, according to Blogger's tracker. That actually comes close to an entry a day when you do the math!)

Season One Title Cards, Season Two News, a 'Bows and Eros' Teaser, and Much More at 'Brad's Corner'.

Monday and Tuesday have passed with TONS of awesome new material at director Brad Goodchild's blog. Some of it contains SPOILERS for Season Two, so we'll review the Season One material first before putting the rest after the usual spoiler warning. Please be warned that there may be Season Two spoilers in some of the blog entries along with the non-spoiler material.

On the Season One side of things, we have the following:
  • Monday's surprise posting was of all twenty-six title cards from Season One, posted in alphabetical order. They're spread-out over six entries, but if you'd like to comment on them, please do so on this entry with the Episode 1.18: Bows and Eros screencap.

  • As a bit of an early holiday surprise, nine screencaps from the pre-opening titles scene of Episode 1.18: Bows and Eros were posted on Tuesday. As you may or may not know, this episode has not yet aired on Canada's Teletoon and won't until sometime in February 2007. Those images can be seen here and here (in that order), and the first link also has interesting comments on the decision behind the character designs for Eros and Psyche.

  • If you're interested in writing fan-mail to the 'Class of the Titans' crew, their mailing address is posted here, and this entry has a neat story about what happened to one very lucky fan who sent some fanmail. However, please note that it may NOT be a good idea to use the address to submit unsolicited scripts because of potential legal reasons.

THE REST OF THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE NEITHER READ ANY FURTHER NOR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

On the exciting Season Two side of things, the blog has the following goodies:
  • A bit of a plot teaser for Cronus 2.0, last mentioned here -- due to Jay's concern about being able to anticipate Cronus' activities, Hephaestus and Odie create a robot version of Cronus that thinks the way he does.

  • A fan asked about how Cronus' time portals work, specifically regarding what would happen if someone were to follow Cronus through one. Mr. Goodchild posted the answer along with a teaser that we'll see such a situation in Graes Anatomy.

  • Season Two will have a Christmas episode which will, quote, 'definitely give a new meaning to the [h]oliday spirit!' This could be quite interesting as it's been postulated that Christmas was based on the Roman holiday of Saturnalia, which was a harvest festival honouring Saturn and the Golden Age of Man he ruled over. Saturn, for the record, is the Roman counterpart of the Greeks' Cronus.

As usual, we will try to update the Season Two news summary with this information as soon as possible, but please keep in mind that the editor is currently writing final examinations and may therefore take longer than usual to do so. Thanks for understanding.

'Get Kraken' Screencaps at 'Brad's Corner'.

Posted a whole day early to director Brad Goodchild's blog are screencaps for Episode 1.16: Get Kraken.

As usual, the images are spread-out over several entries, and if you'd like to leave a general comment, please post to the entry displaying the episode's title card.

Season Two Artwork and a Legal Heads-Up at 'Brad's Corner'.

Both items of interest mentioned in the header for this entry are contained in the same post at director Brad Goodchild's blog, but to summarize here, we'll start-off with the spoiler-free item.

First, the post has some more information about the legal ramifications and actions concerning the recent almost-shutdown of the blog. In short, the IT Department at Studio B Productions will be keeping an eye out for current and further copyright violations of the blog material from this point on. Please read the entry itself for more information.

THE REST OF THIS ENTRY, THE AFOREMENTIONED LINK, AND LINKS AFTER THIS POINT CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SEASON TWO OF 'CLASS OF THE TITANS'. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS. THANK YOU.

The entry also contains a coloured version of some previously posted lineart for the Season Two episode titled Applet of Discord, which will feature Eris as the main guest star. If the image looks somewhat familiar, it's because it's based on the logo image here on the newsblog, as explained in the older entry with the black-and-white version of the graffiti artwork.

'Class of the Titans' Section Removed from Teletoon's Website.

Since 'Class of the Titans' is not currently airing on Canada's Teletoon for December 2006 and most of January 2007, its page on the channel's website was recently removed.

This removal means no more images or video clips -- for each character, the opening titles, and the excerpt from Episode 1.04: Man's Worst Enemy -- for now. At present, there is no word yet on whether the section will return when the opening pilot is re-aired as a Cinetoon special next month.

However, please note that a number of things still remain -- Theresa is still Mayor of Teletoon (and accompanied by Herry and Neil in the Teletoon world's City Hall), the chess game is still accessible through the Play menu, and Jay is still one of the characters you can vote for under Win's Burn challenge.

Update on 'Class of the Titans' on Teletoon for January 2007.

Last week, we reported that Teletoon -- the Canadian distributor for 'Class of the Titans' -- would no longer be airing Season One episodes of the show after December 1, 2006. Large numbers of fans then asked about what the fact of the show would be in Canada, and afte some heads-ups and e-mails, we finally have an answer.

According to Teletoon audience relations co-ordinator Julie Benoit, the show will be taking a bit of a break during December 2006 and January 2007. At present, Teletoon has not yet worked-out their schedule for February 2007 and onwards, so no one has any information about whether Season One re-reruns will return then, although it's a given that Episode 1.18: Bows and Eros will air as holiday special at some point.

Fan c.r. also gave us a heads-up from another e-mail from Teletoon that said the show will return in January 2007. We've gone through the schedules on Teletoon's website and and confirm that this is, in fact, true -- Episodes 1.01-03: Chaos 101, the three-part pilot episode for the series, will be aired as a CINETOON Blizzard special presentation on Thursday January 4, 2007 from 12:00PM to 1:30PM. That, however, is the ONLY airing of any 'Class of the Titans' episodes for the month.

Thanks very much for those who helped with research, and we hope that clarifies things for fans.

'Brad's Corner' (Almost) Gone and Back Again.

Due to certain plagiarism issue earlier, director Brad Goodchild's blog nearly had to shut-down today or tomorrow. However, a more recent entry states that the blog is currently being a second change, and will therefore remain for now.

Please note that the fact that the blog is staying for now does NOT mean it can't be shut-down later if certain violations of trust continue. So please be smart about how you conduct yourself -- as Mr. Goodchild explains in his latest entry, it's all right to use blog material for your own private purposes (eg. using an image for your computer desktop), but archiving the material more on a public site is not, and it's not tolerated even if you give credit.

REMINDER: Plagiarism is NOT Tolerated.

It has been brought to my attention that someone thinks it's proper and perfectly moral to plagiarize (note: site may be deleted, but it has been documented with a screenshot) the news entries that are written on this newsblog by copying everything word-for-word and then not giving credit back to the original site and author.

Let me please have a moment to remind everyone that such behaviour will NOT be tolerated. I certainly don't mind if you quote a small excerpt and link back to the original article or newsblog, or if you just provide a link only, but please don't do something as stupid and wrong as think you have the right to any information online and pretending it's yours or someone else's. YOU DO NOT.

I also ask, however, that if any of you see this happening online, please refrain from flaming and let me know right away through age.of.silicon@gmail.com with the URL of the offender. I will deal with the issue myself. This issue extends to anyone plagiarizing any of the ancillary sites to the newsblog, such as the Season Two news summary.

This is NOT the first time someone has done this, and I also think it won't be the last. Regardless, if this becomes enough of a problem, I WILL shut the newsblog and all of the related sites down so that no one has anything to copy from, and I'll also be sure to point-out who's at fault.

Thank you. I apologize if that was harsh, but things have come to a head, and I am honestly very tired of constantly seeing plagiarism of all kind in this fandom.
